ABM strand refers to accountancy, business and management. A strand that focuses on foundational concepts in corporate corporations. They provide the beginner’s guide in understanding debits and credits. Students will understand more about Economics, Business, Finance, Organization and Marketing. Students will be required to engage themselves in negotiating, talking to customers, strategizing and analyzing. ABM strand is directed into careers in accounting and management. In ABM, you will learn appreciation of the elements that make the world of accounting and business management courses. The subjects involves in ABM strands are designed for you to develop the appropriate tools you’re going to utilize all throughout your journey in the corporate world. You will be trained to analyze assets, understanding about finances, interpret, and prepare audit accounts.
The ABM strand may not seem flexible, but in reality, it is. It can open many doors for ABM students. Being in the ABM strand does not limit one to a management position and it does not limit one to being an entrepreneur. A student under ABM can excel in various sectors and they do not necessarily have to work in the business field. Choosing ABM strand offers a multitude of opportunities and direct career paths that can propel you into both personal and professional success. Not just because you are studying accountancy does not necessarily entail you that you are going to limit yourself of just being an accountant. You need to try and explore what is beyond of ABM so you can choose of being what you want to be in the future. And as an ABM student, you can have a future of being a:

Choosing ABM strand is only a step to the future you want to be.
Being an ABM student, it doesn’t always matter if you’re an achiever or not. Because it’s hard to deny that our major subjects are quite difficult. But as long as you are learning, you are trying to understand each lesson and you are ready to add knowledge to your brain, you can be what you want to be in the future. But of course, you should still have a heart with passion. This is the most important thing to consider if you want to enter ABM or even any strand. You have to ask yourself. Do I really want this? Can I do this? Is this what I want for my future? Or Do I have the courage? Because if you don’t, there’s no way that you are going to survive ABM. So get your calculators, columnar worksheet, ledgers, be strong, have courage and build a passion within your heart. You can make it, future CPA. You can make it, future Businessman. You can make it to your future. You can.
The research team has conducted a survey with 30 respondents from different schools and levels taking ABM strand and here are the findings:
Students think that ABM is hard, confusing, and challenging strand that needs a lot of analyzation. Some students choose ABM because this will help them to improve their skills and it is a path to reach their dream. But there are some students that simply take this strand is because their parents want it for them and there is no available slot in other strands. Some of them chose this because they wanted to be an accountant while the others chose this strand because it is related to the course they’re going to take in college. They influence mostly themselves to choose this strand but most of it was because of their friends also wanted it. According to the survey, parents and friends are the big factors that influences the students to choose this strand. Still there are students say that they really choose this strand because they want it. The common struggles that an ABM students are experiencing is the journalizing transactions and analyzation of transactions and stress because of a lot of paper works. They overcome it by studying hard and doing the paper work on time and by thinking positive. Because students says that the course that they are going to take in college is mostly accountancy or business management. But there are still students that there is something that they really want to pursue that is not connected and related in ABM.
Most students think that being a future accountant and business manager is their “true calling” that is why they chose this strand. They may spend a lot of time doing their paper works, activities and learning more about this strand, they still push themselves and strive hard to reach the standards and grade needed to pass their subjects and also for the sake of their future. To all ABM students out there, even though you have spent most of your time on your tasks while having a hard time in managing stress and sleepless nights, remember what you have started and why did you choose this strand for you to know how far you’ve been since the first day of the class. You may not know what tomorrow might bring but you know on yourselves that you are not done yet but still you’re determined to strive hard and meet all the struggles and difficulties for the better of your future. You should not give up because you are fortunate to survive through the challenges you had than those who didn’t even try because you believe that you can do it and your FUTURE MATTERS.
